5 Things CIOs Need to Know About DPUs 

Data Processing Units (DPUs) deliver important capabilities to accelerate and secure modern workloads, however have left many CIOs scratching their heads when, how, and why to deploy these powerful new components in their data centers. This session details critical problems that DPUs solve and reveal how they actually reduce complexity; while simultaneously improving flexibility, security, performance, and scalability of modern distributed workloads. Universal Architecture for Efficient AI Scaling from Core to Edge

DPU-Based Acceleration for Enterprise Next-Generation Firewalls – Palo Alto Networks

To keep up with the explosion of data, data centers are deploying high-speed networks from 25G to 100G. While network speed has been increasing, security functions such as next-generation firewalls (NGFW) need to keep up with higher traffic loads. Software-defined NGFW offers the flexibility and agility to build modern data centers; however, scaling them for performance, efficiency, and economics has been a challenge. The need for a software-defined, hardware accelerated NGFW is more pressing than ever. NVIDIA and Palo Alto Networks have developed a DPU-accelerated NGFW solution for the enterprise and cloud-scale data centers. In this session, they’ll jointly present the PAN VM-Series NGFW solution and discuss availability and customer trials. We’ll show a live demonstration of PAN NGFW using Bluefield-2 DPU’s rich set of network offloads to improve performance by up to 5x while addressing the security needs of data centers and enterprise deployments.

Redefining Cybersecurity at the Distributed Cloud Edge with AI and Real-time Telemetry

Modern applications are built in a highly distributed manner, with service or microservice having multiple instances for scale-out and offer no single point to observe all data. With the vast number of distributed applications, it’s challenging to provide a holistic view and detect threats. Solving this requires a robust and highly scalable telemetry collection and analytics strategy agnostic to the source and location. InfiniBand HPC Cloud Best Practices: Implementing Performance Isolation on Microsoft Azure

High performance computing and artificial intelligence have evolved to be the primary data processing engines for wide commercial use. HPC clouds host a growing number of users and applications, and therefore need to carefully manage the network resources and provide performance isolation between workloads. Microsoft Azure HPC cloud leverages the NVIDIA InfiniBand In-Network Computing acceleration engines and its enhanced congestion control mechanisms to enable bare-metal HPC and AI performance, while eliminating network hot spots and maintaining highly efficient network performance. We’ll explore best practices for optimizing the network activity and supporting a variety of applications and users on the same network.
