NVIDIA Announces Nsight Graphics 2020.1

Nsight Graphics 2020.1 is now available for download. We have added a number of feature enhancements that improve developer workflow. We’ve added support for profiling applications that make use of Vulkan and OpenGL interoperability.  To see this in action*, select the API to profile in the Range Profiler.

*If your application uses both Vulkan and OpenGL.

We’ve changed the tracking options for acceleration structure builds, and have provided a more performant default option. Projects using the previous tracking mode will be updated to the new mode automatically.  We now warn you when your acceleration structure build patterns interfere with the analysis and offer guidance on how to improve your compatibility with Nsight Graphics.

We have added the Nsight Aftermath SDK to the Nsight Graphics package. Nsight Aftermath is a simple library that you can integrate into your DirectX 12 application to generate GPU “mini-dumps” when a TDR or exception occurs. For more information, see Nsight Aftermath.

Nsight Graphics 2020.1 adds new support for the following Vulkan extensions:

  • VK_KHR_shader_clock
  • VK_KHR_shader_subgroup_extended_types
  • VK_KHR_spirv_1_4

NVIDIA NGX support has been upgraded to NGX 1.3. For full details, see the release notes.
