Nathan Ratliff

Nathan Ratliff is a director at NVIDIA leading the Dex team specializing in sim-to-real RL for humanoid dexterity. Before NVIDIA he was CEO and co-founder of Lula Robotics and worked at an array of research and industry positions including Max Planck, University of Stuttgart, Google, Amazon, and the Toyota Technological Institute in Chicago (TTI-C). He has a PhD in Robotics from CMU (2009). His research ranges from intensely pragmatic to highly theoretical, emblematized by the development of rigorously engineered experimental platforms for validating the state-of-the-art in system design, and using those systems to discover and address theoretical gaps at their most fundamental level to enable step improvements in robotic systems.
