CY (Chien-Ying) Chen
CY (Chien-Ying) Chen is a senior software engineer on the Robotics Platform team at NVIDIA, working on ROS 2 middleware, hardware acceleration, and performance-critical robotics systems. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where his research focused on real-time systems and cyber-physical systems security. Since 2020, CY has contributed to NVIDIA Isaac and the ROS 2 ecosystem. He developed Isaac ROS NITROS, which provides the foundation for hardware-accelerated Isaac ROS packages; ros2_benchmark, a framework for measuring ROS 2 graph performance; and rosidl::Buffer, a new ROS 2 Lyrical data path for hardware-accelerated memory transports.
