Ying-Yi Hong received his PhD from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 1991. He has been with Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), since then, where he was the dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, from 2006 to 2012. He was promoted to be a chair professor due to his exceptional research, leadership, teamwork, and international collaboration, in 2024. From 2012 to 2018, he was a general secretary with CYCU, where he is currently the VP. He received the Outstanding Professor of the Electrical Engineering Award from the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (CIEE), Taiwan, in 2006 and the Outstanding Professor of the Engineering Award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE), Taiwan, in 2024. He was the Chair of the IEEE PES Taipei Chapter, in 2001. His research interests include power system analysis and AI applications.
