Tarak Nandi is a Data Scientist at Battelle working at the DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Morgantown, WV. Prior to this position, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) after completion of PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. His areas of expertise include machine learning/artificial neural networks based methods, fluid mechanics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), atmospheric flows, unsteady aerodynamics, and High Performance Computing (HPC). He developed the reacting flow capabilities within NVIDIA’s Physics Informed Neural Network (PINN) framework Modulus, and added several formulations to achieve the most accurate and stable PINN models.
