Steven Thomson obtained his PhD in quantum physics from the University of St Andrews in 2016, followed by postdocs at CEA Paris-Saclay and the Ecole Polytechnique, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship at Freie Universität Berlin, and a Research Scientist position at IBM Research. He is currently setting up a new research group at the University of Edinburgh.
