NVIDIA Nsight™ Aftermath 2025.4 is released with the following improvements:

New Features:

  • Nsight Aftermath now supports the Slang shading language in Vulkan crash dumps. For the best level of support the driver version should be r580 or higher, as it brings several improvements in tracking the format of debugging information generated by the Slang compiler. (This debugging info format is also used by the GLSL compiler when called with “-gVS” rather than “-g”.)
  • Starting with r580 drivers, Nsight Aftermath supports SPIR-V with separated debug info via DebugBuildIdentifier, supported by the latest Slang compiler.

Improvements:

  • Fixed an application crash during program exit on Linux.
  • Minor errors in the doc strings in the headers have been corrected.
  • GFSDK_Aftermath_GpuCrashDump_ShaderInfo::shaderInstance has been renamed to shaderDebugInfoUid.

Known Issues:

  • The Nsight Aftermath SDK in 32-bit D3D12 applications is currently unreliable.
  • For applications that use CUDA alongside a graphics API, either explicitly or via an NVIDIA provided library, Nsight Aftermath will sometimes generate a crash dump for a fault that occurs on the CUDA workload. This will be improved in a future driver to only generate crash dumps from graphics workloads.
  • [D3D] GFSDK_Aftermath_PageFaultInformation function sometimes returns an incorrect pAppResource pointer.
  • [D3D] Shader debug information for legacy DXBC shaders is not supported.
