Maxim Integrated GMSL SERDES#

The NVIDIA DRIVE® AGX Orin platform (P3710) provides GMSL camera interfaces. The GMSL camera interfaces:

  • Provide 16 simultaneous GMSL camera inputs.

Note

The actual number of camera outputs supported depends on the resolution of the camera output, frame rate of the output, and power mode (specifically the Video Input (VI) and ISP hardware clocks).

  • Route camera data to either SoC.

  • SoC generates a TSC_EDGE_OUT signal on a GPIO pin that is connected to all deserializers. This common FSYNC signal is then forwarded to all 16 GMSL cameras to achieve frame synchronization.

The NVIDIA DRIVE® AGX Thor platform (P3960) provides GMSL camera interfaces. The GMSL camera interfaces:

  • Provide 18 simultaneous GMSL camera inputs. Port 1 to 4 each can take up to four cameras, but Port 5 can only take up to two cameras due to the limitation of ADI MAX96792a deserializer.

Note

The actual number of camera outputs supported depends on the resolution of the camera output, frame rate of the output, number of CSI lanes and power mode (specifically the Video Input (VI) and ISP hardware clocks).

Note

There are only two CSI lanes wired to Thor for Port 3 and 5, some use cases are limited due to the pixel bandwidth is only half of Port 1, 2 and 4.
