############################################################### # Applying Orin Nano Emulation Overlay on Jetpack 5.0.2 BSP # ############################################################### Orin_Nano_Overlay_35.1.tbz2 is the tarball containing all the Orin Nano Emulation config and platform files which can be applied on top of Jetpack 5.0.2 BSP in order to emulate Jetson AGX Orin as Orin Nano 4GB or Orin Nano 8GB platforms. ## Applying Orin Nano Emulation tarball: Below are the steps to apply Orin Nano Emulation tarball: 1. Go to Jetson Linux 35.1 BSP download page on NVIDIA Developer site. - Open https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/jetson-linux-r351 Note: JetPack 5.0.2 includes Jetson Linux 35.1 BSP with Linux Kernel 5.10, an Ubuntu 20.04 based root file system. 2. Download "L4T Driver Package (BSP)". - wget https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/l4t/r35_release_v1.0/release/jetson_linux_r35.1.0_aarch64.tbz2 3. Download Ubuntu 20.04 "Sample Root Filesystem" - wget https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded/l4t/r35_release_v1.0/release/tegra_linux_sample-root-filesystem_r35.1.0_aarch64.tbz2 4. Extract Jetson Linux 35.1 BSP Drivers Package - sudo tar -xpf jetson_linux_r35.1.0_aarch64.tbz2 5. Extract Ubuntu 20.04 "Sample Root Filesystem" - cd Linux_for_Tegra/rootfs - sudo tar -xpf /tegra_linux_sample-root-filesystem_r35.1.0_aarch64.tbz2 6. Apply host and target overlay packages - cd ../ - sudo ./apply_binaries.sh 7. Extract Orin Nano Emulation Overlay tarball - cd ../ - sudo tar -xpf /Orin_Nano_Overlay_35.1.tbz2 This applies the Orin Nano Emulation config and platform files. ## Flashing commands for Orin Nano Emulation configs: 1. To emulate Jetson AGX Orin as Orin Nano 4GB use below flashing command: - sudo flash.sh jetson-agx-orin-devkit-as-nano4gb mmcblk0p1 2. To emulate Jetson AGX Orin as Orin Nano 8GB use below flashing command: - sudo flash.sh jetson-agx-orin-devkit-as-nano8gb mmcblk0p1 ## Known Issues Here is the list of issues that were noted in our testing of overlay for supporting Orin Nano 8GB/4GB 1. When emulating Jetson Orin Nano on Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit; DLA, PVA and NVEnc which are unavailable on Jetson Orin Nano are not automatically disabled. Developers should ensure not to use DLA, PVA and NVEncoder when emulating Jetson Orin Nano. NVIDIA will fix this in upcoming JetPack release and automatically disable these accelerators when emulating Jetson Orin Nano on Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit. 2. When using Orin Nano 4GB emulation flashing config, framerate is capped to maximum of 30 FPS with multicapture. [Bug 3790320]
