Tool Highlights - NvVrDpUtility
NvVrDpUtility is a new debugging tool added to the NVIDIA VRWorks SDK for HMD Manufacturers 3.5.3. It provides functionality for debugging DP displays, including EDID Read, DPCD Read, Display Stream Compression (DSC) Configuration–or Picture Parameter Set (PPS)–and Reading DP AUX Channel Logs.
NvVrDpUtility is designed to handle only DP displays, but supports both DirectMode and Non-DirectMode displays. It has a simple UI that lists Displays and Branch devices, and for a selected display, NvVrDpUtility can read EDID from the display, perform DPCD read, and read and apply DSC configuration (PPS Values).
Key Features:
- Read DPCD registers for branch devices and apply DSC Configurators
- DSC parameter listings (Color Format, Bits per Component, DSC Slice Count, etc.) based on the display registered by DPCD for DSC
- Capture DP AUX channel logs for analysis, while encrypting and removing sensitive information such as private keys
System requirements:
- Windows 7 or later
- NVIDIA Turing or later GPU
- NVIDIA graphics driver 510 or late
