NVIDIA® Nsight™ Graphics 2025.1.0 is released with the following changes:

New Features:

  • Nsight Graphics now fully supports Blackwell GPUs, delivering complete parity with previous architectures and introducing powerful new features to take your workflows to the next level. This includes support for Capture/Replay, GPU Trace, the Shader Profiler, the Shader Debugger, as well as the Nsight Aftermath dump file viewer.
  • In addition to Blackwell architecture support, GPU Trace has been improved:
    • Unified metrics configuration in Blackwell GPUs simplifies profiling by capturing all metrics in a single pass, enabled by expanded performance counters.
    • Launch options are streamlined: “Timeline Metrics” has one setting, and “Real-Time Shader Profiler” is always active.
    • Timeline metrics on Blackwell GPUs are now organized hierarchically, grouping related metrics for clarity.
    • Expandable rows (marked with triangles) distinguish between grouping and multi-metric details, offering an intuitive and flexible GPU Trace UI.

Known Issues:

  • GPU Trace
    • On Blackwell GPUs, the Trace Analysis feature in GPU Trace has been disabled for this release.
    • On Blackwell GPUs, “Multi-Pass Metrics” are not available. However, the Top-Level Triage configuration includes a high% of metrics previously relegated to multi-pass collection in Ada and earlier.
    • On Blackwell GPUs, “Shared Memory + ISBE Occupancy” and “TRAM Occupancy” are not available.
  • Frame Debugger
    • On Blackwell GPUs, SASS execution metrics in the Frame Debugger’s Shader Profiler are disabled for this release (Instruction Executed, Thread Instructions Executed, Active Threads Per Warp).
    • Event markers may have incorrect nesting in captures from the newest versions of Unreal Engine 5.
    • Pixel History is not supported for Vulkan SC applications.
    • Shader View is not supported for Vulkan SC applications on Windows due to some limitations, this may be fixed in a future version.
    • C++ Capture export of applications using VK_NV_acquire_winrt_display will not function properly due to this bug in Vulkan SC Loader.
  • Aftermath
    • For applications that use CUDA alongside a graphics API, either explicitly or via an NVIDIA provided library, Aftermath will sometimes generate a crash dump for a fault that occurs on the CUDA workload. This will be improved in a future driver to only generate crash dumps from graphics workloads.
  • Shader Debugger
    • The debug symbolic information provided by the driver is limited for ray tracing shaders. This can result in not seeing all of the local variables in the Locals/Watch windows while stepping through code. This will be improved in future drivers.
    • For shaders that have multiple layers deep callstacks, there can be errors in identifying the correct local variables for the current scope. This will be improved in future drivers.
