Inception Community Meetup in Paris

On 18 November, the NVIDIA Inception team and PNY organized the first Community Meetup in Paris, hosted by Le Village by CA. It was a great day, full of learning and networking opportunities. ProovStation and Therapixel shared their experiences with training machine learning models models, while DiGEiZ, DatakaLab and AZmed spoke about inferencing, and Upstride took home an NVIDIA Titan V for the best pitch of the day. Sounds like fun? Make sure you join the next event in your area!

Doing world-class AI in Amsterdam

The series of start-up Community events continued with NVIDIA Inception and AWS co-organizing a meetup in Amsterdam. Home to one of the most vibrant AI ecosystems in Europe, the Dutch capital is certainly not lacking technical or business talent. On October 11th, more than 45 CxOs of Inception members from Benelux and beyond joined the event to share their passion for growing DeepTech companies. NVIDIA led the discussion about the current state and the future of AI. Our hosts from AWS provided valuable insights on scaling and leveraging GPUs in the cloud. Three mature Inception members offered deep dives into their GPU-accelerated solutions in medical imaging, autonomous boating and Intelligent Video Analysis. Finally, nine Inception members joined the world-class pitching session. Serket, a Dutch startup developing a video analytics solution for pig farming, won by the unanimous decision of the jury and was awarded a Titan V GPU.

Revving up the Italian Inception Community

On July 8th, Inception chose Modena for the next edition of its Community meetups. Known as the Italian Land of Motors, the city can equally claim the title of the Land of AI, as the event drew the largest audience to date! Over 50 startup executives, researchers and representatives of Italian industry gathered at the University of Modena to present their technology, discuss various applications of AI and learn about the latest GPU-accelerated solutions from NVIDIA. The iconic DGX Station was on display as Inception members were competing for the best pitch of the night. In another tight contest, the Titan GPU went to Deep Vision Consulting – congratulations to the winning team!

In the heart of the European startup capital

London, the AI startup capital of Europe, became the destination for the Inception Community meetup in June. Hosted by Digital Catapult Machine Intelligence Garage, an official Inception program partner, the meetup featured a uniquely broad range of AI use cases – from health care to fintech, entertainment to security and many more. We have introduced the “best in class” presentation format, offering a deep dive into the GPU-accelerated solutions of mature program members. Participants learned from the Inception team and our partner SCAN about NVIDIA platform solutions for Data Science, Machine and Deep Learning. The pinnacle of the meetup became the now traditional pitching session. The team of Wild.ai took the contest by storm and can now accelerate their development with a state-of-the-art Titan GPU.

Inception energizes AI startup community in Copenhagen

For the third Community meetup, Inception turned its gaze to the Nordics. This time, we joined forces with a tech startup hub Founders House and Nvidia partner Altair to gather AI startups in Copenhagen on 22 May 2019. The event attracted over 20 existing and potential Inception members from across Denmark and South Sweden. Nordic startups are exceptionally strong in applying AI solutions to challenging health care problems, which was clearly reflected in our lineup. However, apart from health care, we saw quite a few high-potential cases in the automotive, fintech and agritech areas. And the winner of the pitching session, a Danish medical imaging startup Radiobotics, brought home a Titan Xp graphics card!

An event to remember: Inception at Istanbul Technical University

On 23 March 2019, ITU Teknokent, a startup accelerator of Istanbul Technical University, hosted the second Inception Community meetup,. It was hard to find a free seat as nearly 50 C-level startup executives gathered to learn about NVIDIA platform solutions and hear the latest Inception announcements. As retail solutions and autonomous machines are the focus of Turkish AI startups, a live demo running on Jetson TX2 and Nano arranged by Nvidia partner OpenZeka generated a lot of interest. However, the highlight of the event was the startup pitching session. The winner of this tight race was Intenseye, an Istanbul-based IVA startup.

Off to a flying start in Vienna with Austrian Institute of Technology and Altair

The first Inception Community meetup took place in Vienna on 23 February 2019. Hosted by the Austrian Institute of Technology with support from Nvidia partner Altair, the event brought together 20 AI startups from Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary. Joined by a dozen researchers from AIT, we have had a round of tech-oriented presentations by Inception members followed by several demos at the Center for Technology Experience. The informal networking session gave our startups a chance to discuss their projects with the best Austrian researcher in AI, share best practices with their peers working in the same sectors and forge cross-border partnerships.
