Prepare for Your NVIDIA DLI Workshop

Thanks for your interest in NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) training. To get the most from your hands-on learning experience, please complete these steps.

What to Do Before the Workshop

Please make sure you complete the following steps before the workshop to get the most out of the learning experience.

  1. Review the agenda, prerequisites, and suggested materials for full-day workshops. Review important information about the workshop you’re enrolled in. You can learn about the prerequisites, agenda, suggested materials, and resources for continued learning. This is an important step to properly prepare for your training.

  2. Create or log in to your NVIDIA Developer Program account. This account will provide you with access to all of the DLI training materials during and after the workshop.

  3. Prepare and test your system:

    • Visit websocketstest.courses.nvidia.com and make sure all three test steps are completed and display a check mark “✔.” This will test your system’s ability to access and deliver the training content. If you encounter issues, try updating your browser. Note: Only Chrome and Firefox are supported.

    • Check your bandwidth. At minimum, 1 megabit per second (Mbps) downstream is required, and 5 Mbps is recommended. This will ensure consistent streaming of audio and video during the workshop, avoiding glitches and delays.

System problems will likely either require upgrading your browser or involve problems with your internet connection. You’ll be responsible for resolving these issues.

  4. For in-person workshops: You’re all set. Please wait for further instructions from your instructor.

  5. For virtual workshops:

    • If the workshop will be delivered by an NVIDIA DLI University Ambassador, the ambassador/instructor will provide access to the virtual meeting platform and you can skip the instructions below.

    • If the virtual workshop is hosted by NVIDIA:

      • Visit the system test page to check your audio.

      • We highly recommend using headsets for optimal audio quality and to limit background noise and feedback.

      • If you experience webcam or audio problems, visit the troubleshooting page.

You’re now ready for your virtual workshop. You'll receive an email with the classroom URL and password from your event organizer. If you don’t receive this email at least two hours prior to the session start time, please check your spam filter or “Junk” folder and contact your event organizer.

On the Day of the Workshop—Join the Workshop

  1. 15 minutes prior to your event time, click on the classroom URL that was sent to your email and enter your name and password. You’ll then be able to enter the virtual classroom.

If you see a message similar to “Classroom unavailable. Waiting for the host to start the session…,” this indicates that the instructor hasn’t started the workshop yet. Don’t worry: You’re in the right spot, so be patient and wait for the instructor to get things started.

Now you’re ready to start learning with DLI! Your instructor will provide login instructions to your NVIDIA Developer Program account and a DLI Event Code. When instructed, you can enter the code at courses.nvidia.com/dli-event
