The Tegra Android Development Pack (TADP) is a single package that sets up an Android development environment and installs all software tools required to developing for Android on NVIDIA’s Tegra platform. It is the perfect companion for developing native applications for Tegra Development Kits. From the Android SDK, world class Tegra debugging, profiling and analysis development tools to Tegra Android Operating System images, minimize time spent hunting for the right software versions and downloading files by using TADP.
The latest release (2.0r5) adds support for the latest SOC in mobile computing, NVIDIA Tegra® 4, powering NVIDIA® SHIELD™, the premiere platform for developing Android games with stock Android experience, a 5-inch 720p retinal quality display, and a console-grade game controller. Also, new to this release is official support for the Windows 8 platform.
An updated Nsight™ Tegra®, Visual Studio Edition brings the raw development power and efficiency of Microsoft Visual Studio to Android, providing the familiar tools for Android app development. Flexible project management, accelerated compilation and integrated debugging help reduce complexity. Users may optionally work with native projects; eliminating makefiles and shell scripts. This release of Nsight Tegra, Visual Studio Edition includes support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.
TADP also includes an updated PerfHUD ES 2.0 , which adds NVIDIA Tegra® 4 support and numerous performance and stability enhancements. To learn more, check out the PerfHUD ES homepage. See below for a complete list of updates to TADP.
Updated 08/22/2013 - Fixed minor issue with installer. Please download new files if you are having trouble installing. Thanks.
To download TADP, you must be a member of the Tegra Registered Developer Program. To join simply create a new account (it's free and easy) and then visit Develop for Tegra or the Tegra Resources page and download the version of TADP for your platform.
Please note: NVIDIA SHIELD support requires an over-the-air (OTA) SHIELD Software Update 59 or newer to enable developer support. Download and install the latest NVIDIA SHIELD software update by going to Settings -> About SHIELD -> System updates on your NVIDIA SHIELD prior to using the device with TADP. A getting started guide is available here.
