NVIDIA @ Siggraph Daily: Issue 2

Cg Momentum: Leading The Field! On the Cg main stage in the NVIDIA booth at SIGGRPAH 2002, Softimage and NVIDIA continued to set the pace for the 3D industry by showing the latest Softimage XSI v3.0 with full support for graphics hardware enabled realtime shaders on NVIDIA's Quadro4-based graphics solution. This new software package takes full advantage of the programmability of NVIDIA's award-winning Quadro4 workstations solutions and is one of the first professional DCC applications to fully enable Cg high level shading language. With the release of XSI version 3.0 Softimage's industry-renowned 3D nonlinear production environment has taken another giant step forward. XSI offers the ultimate in flexibility and productivity for the games artist - create, draw, texture and shade nodes with complete freedom and without the limitations of fixed shader configurations. Cg - C for graphics -the industry's high level shading language represents a major leap forward toward the convergence of film and cinematic realtime rendering for industry standards Microsoft DirectX and OpenGL. XSI features support for DirectX realtime shaders and a new DirectX Custom View.

ISV Highlight: Soft Image This year NVIDIA's presence will be felt throughout the entire conference. NVIDIA's main booth will be focused on demonstrating real world implementations of the Cg high level shading language and hardware rendering capabilities through compelling application demonstrations by NVIDIA's ISV partners including Alias|Wavefront Maya, Dassault CATIA, Digital Immersion Presenter3D, discreet 3dsmax and Softimage XSI. Additionally, ISV partners throughout the exhibition are showcasing their latest applications on NVIDIA Quadro4 graphics hardware.

"Got Art?" Winners NVIDIA's Quadro Art Booth (#19102) will provide creative minded attendees with the opportunity to compete in an art contest. They will have 20 minutes to draw and use their talents to win prizes including Quadro4 graphics boards, and leading DCC ISV partner software.
