NVIDIA @ Siggraph Daily: Issue 1

NVIDIA NV3X Architecture for Developers

This week at SIGGRAPH 2002, NVIDIA will cover various aspects of the upcoming NV3X architecture. For those unable to make it, we will be posting a number of relevant presentations and papers on NVIDIA's Developer site (http://developer.nvidia.com/) throughout the week. Stay tuned for more developer detail on this revolutionary architecture.

NVIDIA at Siggraph

This year NVIDIA's presence will be felt throughout the entire conference. NVIDIA's main booth will be focused on demonstrating real world implementations of the Cg high level shading language and hardware rendering capabilities through compelling application demonstrations by NVIDIA's ISV partners including Alias|Wavefront Maya, Dassault CATIA, Digital Immersion Presenter3D, discreet 3dsmax and Softimage XSI.

Additionally, NVIDIA's Quadro Art Booth will provide creative minded attendees with the opportunity to compete in an art contest. They will have 20 minutes to draw and use their talents to win prizes including Quadro4 graphics boards, and leading DCC ISV partner software.

Likewise, ISV partners throughout the exhibition are showcasing their latest applications on NVIDIA Quadro4 graphics hardware.

Got Art?

NVIDIA® invites all artists attending the SIGGRAPH 2002 show to participate in its "Got Art?" drawing contest in the NVIDIA Quadro Art Booth #19102. The contest will run all three days of the SIGGRAPH exhibition, July 23-25, and winners will receive a new Quadro4 750 XGL professional graphics solution.

Cg Sessions Are Full

NVIDIA is conducting a series of Cg high level shading language sessions available to all Siggraph attendees. Monday kicked off the first day of sessions, which were full to capacity and required the scheduling of additional sessions.

This hands-on seminar introduces developers and artists to the tools and workflow for real-time shader development, while giving attendees a chance to write a number of shaders. This seminar is primarily geared towards any graphics programmer or technical director in search of easier methods of writing compelling real-time shaders and who has a basic knowledge of lighting and shading as it applies to the real-time or film world.

The courses have proven to be extremely popular and have been full to capacity! Over the course of the three days, all 15 sessions are full and the only space is standing room only!

NVIDIA Quadro hardware is also powering all panel and papers presentations, the Creative Application Labs (CAL), and "The Studio" located throughout the conference.
