We’ve made three big changes to our Gelato high-quality rendering software:

  • Two versions are available:
    • Gelato at no charge
    • Gelato Pro, which includes Sorbetto™, at the current price of US$1500.
  • Gelato and Gelato Pro are now bundled with the Frantic Films’ Amaretto™ plug-in for Autodesk 3ds Max
  • Gelato will operate with GeForce graphics cards

Gelato is a professional, full-featured and powerful renderer suitable for the most demanding of tasks.

NVIDIA Developer Tools Survey

NVIDIA Demonstrates Mobile Gaming at E3

While visiting NVIDIA's stand at E3 (e3expo.com, May 9th - 12th, Los Angeles, South Hall #300) be sure to check out the GoForce 5500 Handheld GPU. Our Embedded DevRel team will be showcasing a wide variety of games customized for the mobile market by innovative developer partners. In addition to commercial phones shipping today and hardware development kits of upcoming devices, ask about an NDA preview of a handheld game console due to be announced the month following E3.

Future events for handheld GPUs include Mobile Entertainment Market (http://www.mem06.com/, May 24 - 25, London) and CTIA (Sept 12-14, Los Angeles). Contact your developer relations account manager or introduce yourself at handset-dev@nvidia.com if you're interested in working with NVIDIA in this exciting and lucrative new market.

NVPerfKit 2 RC1 Available This Week to Registered Developers

This latest release candidate features several improvements with respect to NVPerfHUD's user interface, performance, and compatibility. If you're a registered developer, make sure to check it out and let us know what you think. The public release of NVPerfKit 2 is also coming soon.

NVPerfKit 2 includes major improvements from NVPerfKit 1.0, and now features NVPerfHUD 4.0 and GLExpert. This latest version of NVPerfHUD includes per-unit utilization graphs and a Frame Profiler mode that provides automated identification of the most expensive state buckets and draw calls in a frame (see preview video ). GLExpert is a new tool that allows you to debug OpenGL API usage errors and performance issues. Registered developer login. Not registered? Register now.

NVSG SDK 2.1.0.9 Released

nvsg_logo.jpgThe newest version of the NVIDIA Scene Graph (NVSG, an object-oriented programming library for creating scene graph-based applications) is now available for download. New to this version is sample source code for PBufferMirrorViewer plus a number of minor enhancements and bug fixes. See the complete change list and download the new version from the NVSG home page.


Cg 1.5 Beta 1 is Available

cg_logo.jpgCg 1.5 Beta 1 is available for download. This version of Cg features GLSL profiles for OpenGL and Shader Model 3 profiles for Direct3D. A procedural API for effect creation has also been added to support COLLADA. As always, this most recent version has been tuned for higher performance.
