Errata for The Cg Tutorial

This page lists errors and corrections to The Cg Tutorial: The Definitive Guide to Programmable Real-Time Graphics.

List of Errors and Corrections:

  • p.71 - The last sentence in the first paragraph after the code sample should say "operator overloading" and not "operator loading"

  • p.83 - Example 3-5 should not have C3E5v_Output OUT; declared. Nor should it end with return OUT;

  • p.152 - In the argument list for C6E2v_particle, out float4 color : TEXCOORD0; should be out float4 color : COLOR;

  • p.202 - The third-to-last sentence on the page should end with "..., as well as the texels immediately to the right of and above the given texel."

  • p.202 - The final sentence and the following sentence on p.203 should read: "The first difference vector is (1, 0, Hr - Hg), where Hg is the height of the given texel and Hr is the height of the texel directly to the right of the given texel. The second difference vector is (0, 1, Ha - Hg) where Ha is the height of the texel directly above the given texel."

  • p.203 - All instances of Ha and Hr in the equation should be swapped.

  • p.206 - In the code snippet at the bottom of the page, the last line should be return v / sqrt(d);
