In response to increasing demand for programmers with proven GPU Computing expertise, NVIDIA launched a worldwide certification program which will be promoted as an industry recognized standard.  Initial certification will cover CUDA C and the CUDA Architecture, but following certifications will cover OpenCL™ and other GPU computing technologies.

Please note, the program is undergoing restructuring and exam registration is temporarily suspended.

The first certification in this program is  NVIDIA Certified CUDA Programmer.  This credential is intended to certify that the holder:

1. has a good working knowledge of the CUDA architecture and programming model
2. can apply CUDA constructs to common algorithmic frameworks
3. is aware of and can employ the basic optimizations that make the CUDA programming model powerful

The credential of NVIDIA Certified CUDA Programmer will be awarded to a candidate who obtains a passing grade on the NVIDIA Certified CUDA Programmer Exam.

There will be no educational qualification pre-requisites for this certification.  However, the level of knowledge for passing this exam is similar to that needed at a senior undergraduate level or beginning graduate level.  The exam will consist of two parts:

• multiple choice questions to test breadth
• programming assignments to test depth

The NVIDIA certification program offers a natural progression to support your career goals in GPU Computing.  Becoming an NVIDIA Certified CUDA Programmer verifies that you have a base set of knowledge that enables entry into a career in application development or software project management using GPU Computing technology.
